Weary Moms, Take Heart!

Yesterday was Mother’s Day. Today is another normal day.

For Mom’s of small kids, normal is hard.

Normal is demanding.

Normal is draining.

And normal can often be discouraging,

Mainly because normal is so exhausting.

If that’s you, I hope you know how incredibly rewarding your normal days are for all those you serve.

As you walk into another normal day, here’s what I believe God would want you to know:

He sees, He knows, and He rejoices your normal, mundane days. He will reward you for all your hard work and labor:

“For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.” (Hebrews 6:10)

Be encouraged as you enter another “normal” day.

God sees your work. God sees your love. God sees your service. And God is with you. One day your children will look back and rise up to call you blessed for all your normal days (Prov. 31:28)

Here’s the note I gave to my wife yesterday; her normal is anything but normal to me. It leaves me constantly amazed:

“The work never ends
for a mom of small kids

The cooking, the cleaning,
the constant repeating

The messes, the stresses
the mid-night regresses

The joy and the laughter,
the sweet “ever-after”

You do it all
with such love
and such grace

Leaving me, constantly,
ever AMAZED.

Weary moms, take heart: You are amazing.

And most importantly, God is with you. May He strengthen you with grace for another “normal” day, for His glory!
